With the latest release of Comala Document Control, Cloud users can now build custom workflows in Confluence. The new workflow builder is flexible enough to allow for a wide range of approval processes, from simple to very complex. We’re frequently impressed by the creative workflows that our Server and Data Center customers have designed, so we asked our Support Team to share a just few examples that represent potential use cases for our Cloud customers.
IT Wiki/Knowledge Base Workflow
Our first example comes from an internal IT wiki. The process starts when a technician receives an issue and creates a page documenting the solution. After the draft is complete, the right subject expert/specialist is called on to verify the content. Once they’ve approved, the wiki coordinator gives the final review, and the page is marked published to show that it is ready for internal use!
Project Objectives Workflow
Many universities and scientific institutions use Comalatech products to manage their scientific documentation in Confluence. In this particular example, we see that the workflow is being used to manage, not just the document, but the project itself. Project objectives are reviewed and either rejected or accepted using this well-designed workflow.
ISO 9001 Workflow
Comala Document Control and Comala Document Management are also used by many clients working in compliance environments, and both apps contain a QMS workflow template that incorporates e-signatures. This custom QMS workflow is designed for the ISO 9001 standard and adds an expiration date, which then prompts the team to update, archive or renew the publication.
